The AHA Heartsaver® Basic course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, general regulatory, or other requirements. This course is ideal for educators, childcare workers, fitness trainers, and lay rescuers in the Flagstaff community looking for OSHA-compliant certification.

Heartsaver® Basic
The Heartsaver® Basic - First Aid CPR AED course is designed for individuals with little or no medical background. It is ideal for anyone who wants to be prepared to respond effectively to emergencies at work, home, or in the community.

Some Course Features, Benefits &Â Objectives include:Â

After successfully completing the CPR AED portion of this course, students will be able to:
• Demonstrate how to assess the scene in the event of an emergency
• Describe how CPR improves survival
• Perform CPR on an adult,, (child, and an infant modules optional)
• Demonstrate giving effective breaths by using mouth-to-mouth or mask for all age groups
• Describe how to use an AED on adult, (child and an infant modules optional)
• Describe when and how to help a choking adult, child, and infant
• Discuss how to help someone experiencing an opioid-associated emergency
• Learn techniques that help prevent drowning emergencies and react to them
• Recognize the legal questions that apply to rescuers

At the end of the Heartsaver First Aid Course, students will be able to:
• Discuss how universal precautions, personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Know the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of first aid responders
• Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
• Describe how to use an epinephrine auto-injector
• Demonstrate how to control bleeding and apply direct pressure and a bandage
• Recognize elements of common illnesses and injuries
• Describe how to prevent repetitive stress injuries and overexertion
• Recognize signs of mental health crisis in the workplace

TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM TRAINING
Time: Complete your training in 3-4 hours in a single session.

2-Year Certifications are $50 per individual for group bookings, or $100 for a private training session.
